Abstract
An oscillation with a period around 5.5 years is identified as being c ommon to the geomagnetic field, the Earth's rotation, and solar activi ty variations. The large extrema of the cross-correlation functions an d their oscillatory character are considered to be indicators of a phy sical relation between geophysical and solar phenomena.
