Abstract
In this paper we study the effect of group homomorphisms on the chains of level subgroups of fuzzy groups. We prove necessary and sufficient conditions under which the chains of level subgroups of homomorphic i mages (pre-images) of an arbitrary fuzzy group can be obtained from th at of the fuzzy group. These theorems also provide us the method to fi nd the chains of level subgroups of homomorphic images and pre-images of arbitrary fuzzy groups.
