Abstract
The microstructure of Al2O3-dispersed poly(ethersulphone)-epoxy blends has been investigated and was correlated with mechanical properties. Microstructure analysis and Young's modulus measurements have been use d to study the microstructural changes of the composites. No phase sep aration was observed for poly(ethersulphone) filled epoxy system. Howe ver, precipitated phase, phase separation and phase-inverted microstru cture were observed for the Al2O3-dispersed poly(ethersulphone)-epoxy system depending on the concentration of Al2O3 and poly(ethersulphone) . Mechanical properties showed the dependence upon the microstructure of the composites.
