The photodissociation of iodine monochloride following excitation at 2
35 nm, within its second absorption band, has been investigated furthe
r using ion imaging methods to monitor the Cl(P-2(3/2)o) and Cl((PP1/
2o)-P-2) atomic products. The angular distributions of these products
are found to be characterised by anisotropy parameters, beta = 1.8 +/-
0.2 and - 1.0 +/- 0.1 for the Cl and Cl products, respectively, whil
st the measured Cl/Cl translational energies indicate the involvement
of the two product channels: ICl + h nu(lambda --> 235 nm) --> Cl + I
(P-2(1/2)o) and Cl* + I(P-2(3/2)o).
