Abstract
The Hg-doped Tl-based 2201 and 2212 phase layered cuprates have been s uccessfully synthesized at ambient pressure and identified by X-ray po wder diffraction and electron diffraction analysis. Compared with pure Tl-based 2212 phase compound, there are indications that the correspo nding Hg-doped Tl-based compound (Tl1.8Hg0.2)Ba2CaCu2Ox exhibits a muc h higher T-c (> 132 K).
