Abstract
The influence of in-plane held H-ip on the critical temperature T-0 fo r the breakdown of vertical Bloch line (VBL) chains of hard domains in garnet bubble films has been inves tigated experimentally. It was fou nd that T-0 can be significantly reduced by the increase of H-ip Besid es, the critical in-plane held H-ip' for the breakdown of VBL chains w as measured as a function of temperature T for the same sample. As a r esult, the correlation between these two critical parameters, T-0 and H-ip', was found. By introducing an effective inplane held (H-ip)(0), the positive definiteness of the system of VBL pairs with two-dimensio nal magnetization distribution was analysed, giving rise to a theoreti cal expression of H-ip' (T): H-ip'(T)=\4 pi +a(1)Q+a(2)Q(2)+a(3)Q(3)+a (4)Q(4))\((T0)Hip=0)(T), where a(i) are constants. It agrees well with the experiments.
