Abstract
[Cp(2)ZrHCl](n) was found to be a useful reagent for a number of eithe r ring formation or ring opening reactions involving unsaturated phosp horus compounds. Furthermore, treatment of a variety of phosphorus der ivatives with [Cp(2)ZrHCl](n) allowed the preparation of several linea r or cyclic mono-, di-, tri- or polyphosphanes as well as optically ac tive diphosphanes.
