Abstract
Acute fulminant hepatic necrosis may be associated with repeated oral administration of diazepam, at recommended dosages, in cats. Initial c linical signs include lethargy, ataxia, and anorexia. If serum alanine or aspartate transaminase activity increases within 5 days of initiat ion of diazepam treatment in cats, suspending administration of the dr ug is recommended.
