The flow around a source doublet in a two-dimensional shear flow along
a flat plane is investigated analytically with an incompressible invi
scid fluid. The velocity field is obtained by the linearized Euler equ
ation. It is shown that the shear suppresses the three-dimensionality
of the disturbance and makes the flow be rather two-dimensional one th
at parallel to the plane. A deformed vortex line consists of the loope
d line and the straight line of the shear flow.
