Abstract
In this article, we trace the development of the concepts and practice s of Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Tactics used in IPM of insect p ests, plant pathogens, and weeds are discussed, with particular emphas is on application to dryland cropping systems of the Great Plains. Rec ommendations are made for guiding the development of IPM in such syste ms.
