Rd. Chirico et Wv. Steele, THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF PYRIDINE .2. COMPARISONS OF NEW RECOMMENDED VALUES WITH THE LITERATURE, Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 28(8), 1996, pp. 819-841
Thermodynamic properties of pyridine (Chemical Abstracts registry numb
er 110-86-1) are reviewed, and detailed comparisons between literature
values and new recommended values of this research are provided. Prop
erties reviewed are condensed- and gas-phase molar heat capacities, th
e molar enthalpy of combustion, vapor pressures, densities, critical p
roperties, virial coefficients, molar enthalpies of vaporization, and
molar thermodynamic properties derived from assigned vibrational spect
ra. In a companion paper to this review, new vapor pressures, high-tem
perature molar heat capacities, and densities are reported which show
that previously assessed values for pyridine require revision. Recomme
ndations are made for values of all properties reviewed. Thermodynamic
consistency between properties is emphasized. (C) 1996 Academic Press
