G. Froba et J. Kalus, STRUCTURE OF THE NEMATIC PHASE OF A SOLUTION OF TETRAMETHYLAMMONIUM PERFLUORONONANOATE IN D2O, Tenside, surfactants, detergents, 33(3), 1996, pp. 233-236
A 30% by weight solution of tetramethylammonium perfluorononanoate in
D2O (TMAHFN; C8F17COON(CH3)(4)) is in the nematic phase between 33 and
35 degrees C. In the presence of a strong magnetic field of 2.0 T the
different nematic regions can be well aligned. By small angle X-ray s
cattering (SAXS) experiments we can extract detailed data of the aniso
tropic correlation between neighbouring discotic micelles.
