Abstract
The method of nuclear spin echo was used to measure spin-lattice relax ation time T-1 of water protons in plant tissues containing prosenchym a cells and oriented along and across the field H-0. The results obtai ned do not allow one to determine unambiguously that T-1 of water prot ons depends on the orientation of plant tissues in field H-0 although there is some tendency towards this. In case of tissues with more elon gated cells and smaller cross section, an enhancement of the effect ca n be expected. It is concluded that in relaxation experiments with pla nt tissues, in particular, in tussues containing elongated cells, this effect should be taken into account.
