CLIMATIC EFFECTS ON COATINGS APPLICATION AND CURE

During industrial coating application, humidity and temperature of the surface and the surrounding atmosphere have a substantial influence o n that coating's success or failure. This article discusses how climat ic conditions impact coatings application and how conditions should be monitored. A brief introduction to psychrometrics and the psychrometr ic chart illustrates some common weather scenarios that create problem s on the industrial coating job. Different tools used to monitor envir onmental conditions are compared and demonstrated.
