THE LURE-IMT X-RAY-FLUORESCENCE PHOTON MICROPROBE

The LURE-IMT photon microprobe has been operational on the DCI storage ring since 1992. This paper presents the use of Synchrotron Radiation for the realisation of an X-ray microprobe incorporating an elliptica l Bragg-Fresnel multilayer lens and compares the LURE-IMT system to ot her available microprobes. A complete description of the system is giv en along with results obtained using it on the DCI storage ring at LUR E, a first generation synchrotron, and on an undulator beam line at th e ESRF, a third generation synchrotron facility.
