Abstract
In this paper a numerical method is developed to solve a one-dimension al inverse scattering problem associated with a pair of two coupled pa rtial differential equations. These equations are for the Green functi ons that can be used for the optimization of electromagnetic energy wi thin selected regions of a medium in which the propagation is taking p lace. The method is based upon constructing the Nth degree interpolati on polynomial to approximate the Green functions acid the phase veloci ty function using Legendre-Gauss-Lobatto collocation points.
