Abstract
The decay rates of c (c) over bar and b (b) over bar through two-photo n or two-gluon annihilations are obtained by using totally relativisti c decay amplitudes and a sophisticated quantum-chromodynamic potential model for heavy quarkonia. Our results for the photonic and gluonic w idths of the S-1(0), P-3(0), and the P-3(2) states are in excellent ag reement with the available experimental data. The procedures and mathe matical techniques used by us for the treatment of the fermion-antifer mion bound states are also applicable to other decay processes.
