Abstract
We investigate an abstract second order system of conservation laws wi th a source term, around a constant stationnary state. Assuming the ex istence of a generalized entropy function, the invariance of the nulls pace naturally associated with dissipation matrices, stability conditi ons for the source term and a dissipative structure for the linearized equations around the constant equilibrium state, we establish global existence of a smooth solution and asymptotic stability of the equilib rium state without restriction on the space dimension and obtain decay estimates. We finally apply these results to the system of equations governing multicomponent reactive flows with complex chemistry.
