J. Biswas et R. Fogla, SYMPATHETIC OPHTHALMIA FOLLOWING CYCLOCRYOTHERAPY WITH HISTOPATHOLOGIC CORRELATION, Ophthalmic surgery, 27(12), 1996, pp. 1035-1038
Sympathetic ophthalmia following cyclocryotherapy is extremely rare. T
he authors report a case of sympathetic ophthalmia after cyclocryother
apy for neovascular glaucoma due to central retinal vein occlusion. Hi
stopathologic examination of the exciting eye showed features of signi
ficant sympathetic ophthalmia along with migration of uveal pigments t
o the limbal conjunctiva with lymphocytic infiltration around it, ther
eby indicating probable etiopathogenesis.
