Abstract
Non-fecal isolates of Arizona subgroup are rarely isolated from humans in the clinical microbiology laboratory. Evidence is presented to sho w that six cases of presumed human as well as of two bovine infections with Salmonella Illb 61:k:1,5,7 were probably due to contaminated she ep blood used in preparing the culture media. Salmonella Illb 61:k:1,5 ,7 causes low-grade septicemia in sheep. Routine quality control proce dures may fail to detect contamination of sheep blood with this organi sm.
