Abstract
Eurydice barnardi sp. nov., and Eurydice kensleyi sp. nov., are descri bed from intertidal sandy beaches on the West coast of South Africa. T he former species appears adapted to a fossorial existence, probably f eeding on nematodes, while the latter is a more active swimmer which f eeds on polychaetes. Eurydice longicornis, a subtidal species long con sidered the only species of the genus in South Africa, is redescribed from the type material. The ecology and biology of the species are det ailed, and a key provided to the South African species Eurydice.
