Rovibrational levels of the (DIIu)-I-1 state of the Li-7(2) molecule w
ere selectively excited by a tunable frequency-doubled mode-locked cav
ity-dumped cw dye laser. Their radiative lifetimes were measured by th
e delayed-coincidence single-photon counting technique. The comparison
of the experimental results with the predictions of ab initio calcula
tions yields a more comprehensive and quantitative understanding of th
e non-adiabatic coupling mechanisms between the D-1(II)(u) state and t
he 3(1)II(u), state which determine the structure and dynamics of the
rovibrational levels of the (DIIu)-I-1, state of Li-7(2).
