Abstract
The technique of Computational Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) was used to study the indoor air flow field in mechanically ventilated and air-conditioned spaces. Numerical experiments were performed in six t est sites of different sizes and ventilation configurations. Typical m echanical ventilation or air-conditioning systems were installed in th ose sites so that the evaluation of results of the system performance would be useful for assessing other similar systems. The predicted res ults were analysed and compared with experimental measurements. More i mportantly, the potential use of the predicted results was illustrated . Correlation relationships between the flow field characteristics and the macroscopic design parameters were established. Copyright (C) 199 6 Elsevier Science Ltd.
