In Brazil, there are large areas of lowland having great potential to
increase agricultural production, if adequate management practices are
adopted, especially adequate fertilization. A greenhouse experiment w
as conducted to evaluate irrigated rice response to fertilization on s
ix lowland soils collected from Goias and Tocantins states in differen
t locations. The fertilizer levels tested were: control (A(0)); 50 N 50 P2O5 + 40 K2O + 20 FTE-BR 12 in mg/kg soil (A(1)); 100 N + 100 P2O
5 + 80 K2O + 40 FTE-BR 12 in mg/kg soil (A(2)); and 200 N + 200 P2O5 160 K2O + 80 FTE-BR 12 in mg/kg soil (A(3)). Dry matter production, g
rain yield, and yield components were significantly increased with fer
tilization and varied from soil to soil.
