Ns. Jovic et al., THE VOGT-KOYANAGI-HARADA SYNDROME - ASSOCIATION WITH AUTOIMMUNE POLYGLANDULAR SYNDROME TYPE-1, Postgraduate medical journal, 72(850), 1996, pp. 495-497
We describe a young woman with primary adrenal insufficiency, hypopara
thyroidism (autoimmune polyglandular syndrome type 1), Graves disease,
vitiligo, and alopecia universalis. Five years after the diagnosis, s
he presented with recurrent ophthalmological and neurological disorder
s as features of Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada syndrome. A marked therapeutic r
esponse was noted on systemic high-dose corticosteroid treatment. To t
he best of our knowledge, such a spectre of autoimmune diseases has no
t been reported previously.
