Abstract
The use of C-8 coated capillary columns enabled the characterization o f human recombinant erythropoietin (r-HuEPO) as well as its determinat ion by capillary electrophoresis. Samples were injected at 90 V cm(-1) during a period of 30 s and the electrophoregrams were recorded at 21 0 V cm(-1). A 0.03 mol l(-1) phosphate solution at pH 7.0 (without add itives) was used as the running buffer, A minimum amount of 19 +/- 1 p g, which corresponds to a concentration in the sample of 0.37 mu g ml( -1), was found using UV detection at 240 nm, Several experiments were carried out in order to study the behaviour of r-HuEPO in this type of capillary, r-HuEPO was determined in spiked urine samples.
