Abstract
Artificial intelligence is a productive research paradigm for a variet y of problems that arise in the world of investments. This article pro vides an introduction to this special issue of Applied Artificial Inte lligence, ''Artificial Intelligence Applications on Wall Street,'' whi ch is devoted to financial AI applications. The articles in this volum e are derived from papers presented at the Third International Confere nce on Artificial Intelligence Applications on Wall Street, held in Ju ne 1995, in New York City.
