Mj. Farrar et Ms. Binns, PERCUTANEOUS REDUCTION FOR CLOSED NAILING OF FEMORAL-SHAFT FRACTURES, Journal of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, 41(4), 1996, pp. 267-268
Fracture reduction devices for closed nailing of the femur have been d
escribed as an alternative to manual manipulation. They have consisted
of various clamps and supports. These external methods can be difficu
lt to use. We have used a Steinman pin on a T-clamp inserted percutane
ously on to bone to gain a temporary reduction during intramedullary n
ailing.
