Kikuchi's histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis is a clinicopathologic
al entity characterized by cervical lymph node involvement in young wo
men, usually associated with pyrexia. Lymphadenopathy is seldom occult
and the clinical symptom is a fever of unknown origin. The authors re
port two illustrative cases of Kikuchi's disease. The etiology of this
disease remains unknown. Physicians and pathologists need to be aware
of this. Kikuchi's disease should be added to the list of potential c
auses of lymphadenopathy and fever of unknown origin.
