Abstract
We describe 3 patients with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus wh o presented with hand pain and swollen joints. All 3 had radiographic changes in the affected joints typical of those associated with hemoch romatosis. None of these patients had hemochromatosis, This is the fir st description of hemochromatosis-like arthropathy in diabetes mellitu s without hemochromatosis.
