C. Avoyne et al., SPECIFICITY OF A RAPID METHOD FOR THE IDE NTIFICATION OF LISTERIA-MONOCYTOGENES - THE MONO CONFIRM TEST, Le Lait, 76(4), 1996, pp. 405-411
The Mono Confirm test is a micromethod based upon four biochemical rea
ctions for the identification of Listeria monocytogenes in 24 hours. T
he test must be performed with Listeria strains. The enzyme D-aminopep
tidase allows the differentiation between L monocytogenes and other Li
steria species. To study the specificity of the Mono Confirm test, 133
Listeria strains which came from food products, human or animal sourc
es were examined. Mono Confirm test enabled good identification for ai
l L monocytogenes (68 strains); 64 out of 65 non monocytogenes Listeri
a strains were recognized as Listeria non monocytogenes.
