J. Contopoulos, GENERAL AXISYMMETRICAL MAGNETOHYDRODYNAMIC FLOWS - THEORY AND SOLUTIONS, Astrophysical letters & communications, 34(1-6), 1996, pp. 269-273
We formulate the theory of general axisymmetric, steady-state, non-rel
ativistic, ideal magnetohydrodynamic flows which continuously advect p
oloidal magnetic flux, and obtain self-similar self-consistent solutio
ns of the equations. This situation might have direct astrophysical ap
plications in accretion-outflow scenaria around compact objects in ste
llar systems and active galactic nuclei.
