Abstract
A traverse was made across the coalfield to examine the Coal Measure s equence, including several widespread faunal horizons, associated coal seams, their synclinal structure, and faulting together with the form erly important economic aspects of this seldom, geologically, visited northeastern apex of the Lancashire coalfield.
