Abstract
Evidence is presented for the presence of a hatching factor or factors in corn seedling leachates that enhances egg hatching in Heterodera z eae. This study was undertaken to gain information on selected charact eristics of the hatching factor(s). Fresh corn seedling leachates were heat- and storage-stable. The hatching factor partitioned into diethy l ether but not into hexane or chloroform.
