Abstract
The synthesis and kinetic cyclisations of a series of linear quinine o ligomers are described. The distribution of cyclic oligomers is differ ent from that observed in the corresponding thermodynamic cyclisation: cyclic tetramer is observed in the kinetic cyclisations, indicating t hat its absence under thermodynamic conditions is not due to any kinet ic barrier to its formation.
