Abstract
The oxothiopolyanions gamma-[PW(10)M(2)S(2)O(38)](5-), M = Mo (1), W ( 2), were obtained in good yield through the stereospecific addition of the dithiocation [M(2)S(2)O(2)](2+) (M = Mo, W) to the divacant gamma - [PW10O36](7-) anion in dmf W-183 and P-31 NMR spectra of highly solu ble Li+ salts in aqueous solution confirmed that the structures of bot h 1 and 2 agree with a Keggin type capped with the {M(2)S(2)O(2)(2+)} fragment. Polarographic and UV-Vis data are also given.
