Abstract
From chip design to manufacturing, computer aided design (CAD) has bec ome an indispensable part of integrated circuit (IC) technology. This is true, explain the authors, not only because chip layouts have to be transferred to the manufacturing process in the form of control progr ams, but because of the ever-increasing complexity and integration den sity of lCs.
