PRINCIPLES UNDERLYING ANALYSIS OF THE SURFACE-STRUCTURE OF POLYMERIC MATERIALS BY DECORATION WITH GOLD

The potentialities of the classical technique of decoration with gold in studying the surface morphology of polymeric materials are discusse d, and unconventional methods of decoration with ''chemical tracers'' and electrically active replicas are described. Application of the rad ial distribution function of decorating crystals, stereographic techni ques, anal the theory of fractal clusters for determining structural p arameters of surface is considered. Principles are formulated for a me thodological approach to description and quantitative analysis of surf ace decorograms of polymeric materials.
