Methods for modeling liquid-vapor equilibria are reviewed and discusse
d critically. Primary attention is focused on the discussion of group-
contribution models for excess Gibbs thermodynamic potentials and equa
tions of state. The capabilities of different methods are demonstrated
by calculations of phase diagrams and thermodynamic properties compar
ed with experimental data.
