Abstract
A system of heat- and mass-transfer equations based on the cellular mo del is used to describe the dynamic behavior of single spherical vapor bubbles in a binary liquid under the action of periodic, alternating (with small positive and deep negative parts) pressure pulses, that is , under the action of pulsed cavitation. This action causes the compon ents of the liquid mixture to separate. It is shown by numerical and a nalytical studies that the rectification process is affected mainly by the shape of a pressure-time pulse. The calculation is exemplified wi th reference to a mixture of alcohol and water. It is proved that the separation of components of a binary liquid. mixture by pulsed cavitat ion is feasible.
