Abstract
Electron impact excitation cross sections for Be and B atoms and ions have been calculated in the distorted wave approximation from ground s tates to excited states with principal quantum number up to 5. The col lision strength data have been fitted as a function of the impact elec tron energy in threshold units and the fit parameters for all transiti ons are presented.
