Abstract
gamma-Ray polymerization of two diacetylenes (3BCMU and 4BCMU) was stu died, in particular at low doses below 5000 rad. Reactivity is very hi gh, leading to large polymerization G values of 2.4 x 10(4) and 6.9 x 10(4), respectively. Molecular weight distributions were measured for 4BCMU, leading to M(n) approximate to 2.6 x 10(6) (chain length 2.5 mu m) with small dispersion. A large chain initiation G value, G(i) = 14 , is derived.
