F. Aparicio et al., THEORETICAL-MODEL TO ANALYZE THE COLLISION OF AN AUTOMOBILE VEHICLE, International journal of vehicle design, 17(4), 1996, pp. 415-429
This paper presents a theoretical model which is the basis of a comput
er program to analyse the behaviour of an automobile when it collides
with another vehicle or an obstacle. The model is based on the simulat
ion of the behaviour of different resistant parts of the vehicle struc
ture, employing rigidity and damping elements, with non-linear behavio
ur laws for the latter. The model studies the collision and evaluates
characteristics parameters, such us energy absorbed by the structures,
structural deformation, elastic recovery, the loading process, decele
rations during the collision, etc... The model has been developed usin
g the Bond-Graph technique.
