In view of new data on the relationship between the number of solar ne
utrinos detected on the Earth and the magnetic activity of the Sun, la
boratory searches for the antineutrino magnetic moment become an urgen
t problem. The possibility of detecting this magnetic moment in the sc
attering of reactor electronic antineutrinos by electrons is considere
d. The features of a reactor as an antineutrino source that are expect
ed to be important in performing experiments and interpreting experime
ntal results and which have not hitherto been taken into account are a
nalyzed. It is shown that, at low energies, the number of emitted anti
neutrinos is 1.5 times as great as that predicted previously.
