ON THE APPLICATION OF FINITE METHODS IN TIME-DOMAIN TO ANISOTROPIC DIELECTRIC WAVE-GUIDES

This paper presents some general-ideas for the construction of explici t finite algorithms to study wave propagation in dielectric anisotropi c waveguides. The goal is to facilitate the development of different f inite schemes through the extension of the finite-difference time-doma in (FDTD) method to study anisotropic media. Some of these schemes are particularized and applied to the simulation of the propagation of el ectromagnetic waves through planar dielectric anisotropic waveguides.
