Abstract
The reaction of several gamma-iodothioethers (1) with different electr ophilic olefins (2), tributyltin chloride and sodium borohydride in th e presence of a catalytic amount of AIBN yielded, after treatment with a saturated aqueous solution of sodium fluoride, a mixture of the exp ected addition products (3) and the corresponding reduced thioethers ( 4), which can be easily separated chromatographically.
