Abstract
UV-irradiated deoxyribonucleoprotein was digested with trypsin to clea ve the histones, and a cross-linked DNA-peptide complex was isolated. The globular domain of the H1 histone was found to be linked to DNA. T he resistance of this globular domain to trypsinization is discussed i n relation to chromatin structure.
