Phosphotriesterase (PTE) from Flavobacterium sp. was utilized for tran sesterification of the organophosphate insecticide, Paraoxon, using 2- phenylethyl alcohol as a nucleophile and dimethly sulfoxide as an orga nic solvent forming the converted phosphotriester compound, diethyl 2- phenylethyl phosphate.
