Abstract
It is shown that the attractive force that arises between two dust gra ins in an isotropic collisionless plasma is caused by inelastic collis ions between ions and a dust grain. This attractive force is proportio nal to the square of the inverse distance between dust grains and can counterbalance the Coulomb repulsion.
