Abstract
Nonlinear kinetic Alfven waves are studied in a relativistic, high-pre ssure electron-positron plasma. In order to describe the dispersion of these waves, the kinetic equation (averaged over the Larmor rotation) for the particle distribution function is derived with allowance for terms that are quadratic in the Larmor radius of the particles. Equati ons for the nonlinear kinetic Alfven waves are obtained. It is shown t hat solitary dipole vortices of these waves can exist.
